Vijayawada: IAS officer Mylavarapu Krishna Teja, a 2015 batch Kerala cadre Telugu IAS officer has been posted as director of the Panchayat Raj & Rural Development in the department of deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan.

The State Government on Saturday transferred and given postings as many as 62 IAS officers to various departments. Krishna Teja was one among them who got posted as director of Panchayat Raj & Rural Development. He is one of the well-known IAS officers in Kerala for his work during the floods that ravaged the State in 2018.

Teja who was the district collector of Thrissur in Kerala was transferred to Andhra Pradesh on inter-cadre deputation.

Krishna Teja might also be appointed as an officer on special duty (OSD) to Pawan Kalyan. Sources said that following Pawan Kalyan’s request, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given permission to bring Teja to Andhra Pradesh.


Teja helmed ‘Operation Kuttanadu’ during Kerala floods

Teja, a native of Chilakaluripet in Palnadu district played a key role as the sub-collector of Alleppey during the 2018 Kerala floods when he planned ‘Operation Kuttanadu’ to evacuate about 2.5 lakh people in 48 hours.

He played a major role in mobilising funds for the rehabilitation of flood victims through the ‘I am for Alleppey’ campaign.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he secured his engineering degree in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh in 2009. Krishna Teja worked in many software companies before cracking the Civil Services exam.

Thrissur district was adjudged the best district in the country for its child rights protection and Teja has also received the National Commission For Protection of Child Rights Award.
