Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh government has promoted several IPS officers to the next rank. Three IPS officers 1993 batch have been promoted to the rank of Director General of Police. Chief secretary KS Jawahar Reddy has issued the order.

PV. Sunil Kumar, who is the additional DGP, Crime Investigation Bureau (CID), has been promoted and posted as Director General of Police, CID.

Dr. Mahesh Dixit, and Amit Garg who are presently on Central Deputation, have been granted proforma promotion to the Grade of Director General of Police.

DIG level promotion:

Three IPS officers of the 2009 batch were promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police with effect from January 1, 2023.

Dr. Koya Praveen, IPS, has been retained as Commandant, 16 Bn, APSP, Visakhapatnam.

Ammi Reddy, AIG (law & order) has been retained as DIG (Law & Order) at the office of the Director General of Police.

Bhaskar Bhushan, who is currently on Central Deputation, has been granted proforma promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.

IG level promotion:

Three IPS officers of the 2005 batch were promoted to the rank of Inspector General of Police Level.

Dr. C.M. Thrivikrama Varma DIG, Guntur range, and G.Pala Raju, DIG Eluru Range are posted in situ.

S. Shyamsunder who is presently working on inter cadre Deputation to Kerala State, is granted proforma promotion to the rank of Inspector General.
