Applications for ration cards to go online on MeeSeva website soon

Hyderabad: Soon, applicants in Telangana for new ration cards will be able to apply online without visiting government offices to submit applications.
As per the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Department, which issues ration cards to eligible beneficiaries (economically backward people), the usual norm is to go to a nearby MeeSeva office or centre, fill up the application form and apply for a ration card. Soon, it will be possible to fill up the form online on the official website of MeeSeva.
No GO yet
Though no Government Order (GO) has been issued yet, one can however expect the process of application to go online soon, some sources even saying it is likely to be from December 28.
Currently, there are over 89.98 lakh ration cards issued across Telangana, including cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and State Food Security Cards (SFSC). The total beneficiaries covered under the cards surpass 2.82 crores.
Process to apply for new ration cards
To fill up online, click on MeeSeva service forms, where one can find different types of forms for different departments on this page.
On the given page, to download the application form, click on the Civil Supplies Department option, there one will get different types of applications. Click on the application for a New Food Security Card. After downloading the application form, take a printout of the application form.
Fill in all the necessary information in the application form such as applicant name, age, gender, father name, address details mobile no. qualification details, district, region, no of family members, total income of family etc.
Attach all documents and submit the application form with the prescribed fee. Applicants should also take an acknowledgement slip from the MeeSeva centre.
The necessary documents include a copy of the original residence proof, a copy of identity proof of Aadhaar card and passport-size photograph of the applicant.
