Hyderabad: The Karimnagar II Town police who arrested BJP state president and MP Bandi Sanjay in a midnight operation, told the court that Sanjay’s arrest was important since he would disturb the conduct of SSC examination. Meanwhile BJP IT cell has filed a Habeas Corpus petition in the Telangana high court, seeking the whereabouts of party president Bandi Sanjay and calling it illegal detention.

Karimnagar police took Bandi Sanjay Kumar into preventive custody in connection with the SSC Hindi question paper leak; he was later arrested. Karimnagar police picked him up from his residence after midnight. He was shifted to the BommalaRamaram police station in Yadadri Bhongir district. Police have accused him of being involved in the SSC Hindi examination question paper leak. Within half an hour of the SSC exam, pictures of the question paper were circulating on WhatsApp groups. It started in Warangal and later spread across the state.

Later, in the day Karimnagar police told the Judicial Magistrate of First Class Special Mobile court at Karimnagar that his arrest is important as it would disturb the examination process.

What did Karimnagar police tell the court?

Based on news reports about the SSC exam paper leak on two consecutive days, Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay held press conferences and blamed the state government for it. This resulted in provoking students and disturbing the peace and tranquility in a prejudicial manner which are likely to create law and order problems.

I (Karimnagar Inspector of police) received information that the MP also motivated his followers and other BJP activists to stage protests in front of Examination centers, in order to disturb the conduct and continuation of further examinations.

Such acts of MP is likely to demoralize the students appearing for SC Examination in which event there is every likelihood of students resorting to extreme measures and the conduct of MP in that way will disturb the entire examination process in the state which will have serious repercussions on the future of the students.

Regarding the leakage of Question papers a case ni Cr.No. 60/2023 us/ 420 CP Sec. 4(A), 6 TS Public Examination ( Prevention of Malpracticing) 66-D ITA-2000- 2008 of Kamalapur PS Warangal District where in some unknown persons took the Question papers from the unknown students in Exam Centers, took photos of Question Papers and posted in whatsapp group. This matter is related to the future of many students and for getting more marks in wrongful methods.

In view of the peaceful conduct of ongoing SC Examinations, future of the students and also likely to arise Law and Order Situations, if the students are provoked, the prevention of arrest of Sri Hon'ble Bandi Sanjay Kumar is felt necessary. Therefore all possible necessary steps has been taken and on April 5th, 2023.

Meanwhile, Telangana State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for protests in all Mandals and district centers against the alleged illegal arrest of their president Bandi Sanjay Kumar. BJP workers reportedly blocked a police vehicle that was carrying Bandi Sanjay at Pembarti near Aleru. According to sources, the workers raised slogans. The situation turned violent when policemen dragged the workers.

Police, on the other hand, have arrested several activists and taken them to Hanumakonda. The situation remains tense, and further updates are awaited.
