Bandi Sanjay gets conditional bail

Hyderabad: BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay has been granted conditional bail in the SSC Hindi paper leak case on Thursday.

He has been asked to furnish two sureties of Rs 20,000 each.

His lawyers will get the bail papers in some time. He is likely to be released from Karimnagar Jail on Friday.

On April 5, Bandi Sanjay was arrested in connection with a paper leak case. He was accused of being involved in the leak of a 10th-class Hindi question paper, which took place on March 4. He was arrested by the Warangal police and produced before the Hanmakonda Magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days.

However, the BJP's legal cell filed a bail petition on behalf of Sanjay in Hanmakonda on April 5 and after an 8-hour-long hearing, the judge granted conditional bail to Sanjay.

Speaking to Newsmeter, former MLC and Advocate N Ramchandrarao said, “As per the bail conditions, Sanjay will have to furnish two sureties with Rs. 20,000 each. Further, he should not interact with or influence the witnesses. Sanjay is obliged to co-operate with the investigation and ordered not to leave the country.”

BJP spokesperson NV Subhash said: "Finally truth won the political war orchestrated by CM KCR. It is a slap on the face of CM KCR and BRS party as they wanted to keep Bandi Sanjay inside the jail, and to prevent him to participate in PM programs on April 8."

"But the victory will be finally of truth. It may take some seconds, minutes, or hours, but justice would always win the battle if we go through our history, he asserted", he added.
