It has also warned of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in a few districts of Telangana for five days from 27 April to 1 May.
Meanwhile, maximum temperatures are soaring across the state. In the last 24 hours, Jainad in Adilabad recorded the state's maximum highest temperature of 44.9 degrees Celsius. In Hyderabad, the highest maximum temperature of 39.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Red Hills playground in Nampally.
Several other places across the state also experienced high maximum temperatures. Nizamabad North in Nizamabad-44.8 degrees Celsius, Kolvai in Jagtial- 44.7 degrees Celsius, Nizamabad -44.5 degrees Celsius, Palda in Nizamabad -44.5 degrees Celsius, Madanpalle - 44.5 degrees Celsius, Akane Palli in Peddapalli-44.4 degrees Celsius, Govindaram (Jagtial)- 44.4 degrees Celsius, Aliapur (Jagtial)- 44.2 degrees Celsius, and Janakampet in Nizamabad- 44.2 degrees Celsius.
Weather observer in the city, T Balaji popular as Telangana Weatherman alerted on Twitter about the severe heatwave in the state. He wrote, "With the dry winds pushing into Telangana state, massive heat is expected in the next 2-3 days. Temp may touch 46 degrees Celsius in North Telangana. Temperature will also touch 42 degrees Celsius in Hyderabad in the next 3 days."
