Bus conductor stabbed by passenger travelling on footboard in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old bus conductor was stabbed in an altercation with a passenger who was travelling on the footboard. The injured conductor is said to be recovering.

The accused Harsh Sinha, a native of Jharkhand, was caught by passengers and handed over to the police, while the injured conductor Yogesh was taken to a private hospital.

The incident happened on October 1, when the bus, belonging to Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), was near the Whitefield police station. The accused used to work at one of the call centres in Bengaluru and was fired on September 20.

According to the police, Sinha was travelling in a BMTC Volvo bus when the conductor Yogesh, instructed him not to stand near the door. In a fit of rage, Sinha pulled out a knife and stabbed the conductor in the abdomen.

While he tried to step away, the passengers locked the accused inside the bus. To escape, Sinha also broke the glass and doors of the bus.

A few weeks ago, a school bus from Treamis School in Electronic City was attacked by a group of people. The incident happened around 4 pm on Route 35 when a Scorpio stopped in front of the bus, blocking its path. The attackers broke the driverā€™s window with a metal object and tried to enter the bus. Fortunately, none of the children on the bus were hurt.
