By Sri Lakshmi Muttevi Published on 12 Sep 2024 7:58 AM GMTBengaluru: Tollywood actor Hema has been named as a consumer in a drugs case following a rave party raid conducted by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) at a farmhouse near Electronics City on May 15. The chargesheet named 88 individuals as accused, including Hema.
A forensic science laboratory (FSL) report confirmed the presence of MDMA in her system, leading to her inclusion in the chargesheet filed by the CCB in court.
The party organized by Vasu L, an event manager, took place at GR Farms in Singena Agrahara as part of his birthday celebration and the anniversary of his event management company. The Central Crime Branch in Bengaluru raided the venue and seized Ecstasy pills, MDMA pills and crystals, six grams of hydro cannabis, five grams of cocaine, a Rs 500 note laced with cocaine, six kilograms of hydro ganja, five mobile phones, two luxury cars, and DJ equipment.
Vasu, Randhir Babu and Muhammad Abubakar Siddiqui were arrested for selling drugs for the rave party. Hema attended the party as a friend of Vasu.

There were more than 100 attendees from Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru, including over 25 young women. DJs, models, actors, and techies were among those present at the party. As many as 88 individuals including Telugu actor Hema tested positive for drugs after being caught by the Central Crime Branch during a raid at a rave party.
After the raids, Hema had allegedly tried to mislead the police by releasing a video stating that she wasnāt in Bengaluru and had not attended the investigation despite two notices. In her message, the senior Telugu actor had asked the people ānot to believe the news as she had not gone anywhere and was at a farmhouse in Hyderabad at the time of the raid.ā
However, following the medical test results that indicated drug consumption, she was arrested and is now out on bail.
