Andhra Pradesh: Many parts of Andhra Pradesh observed a shutdown against the 'Agnipath' scheme on Monday. Security has been tightened in view of Bharat Bandh. Section 144 has been imposed at all the railway stations. All the stations in Andhra Pradesh have been put on alert.

In Tirupati, two youth have been taken into custody after they shared messages about protests against Agnipath on Whatsapp groups. They allegedly planned for a protest in the Tirupati police station. Bakrapeta police are questioning the youth. "Strict action will be taken against those who try to damage government property. Security forces have been deployed at bus stops, railway stations, and central government offices including BSNL and Indian Post", said Superintendent of Police Tirupati Parameswara Reddy.

Train services are running normally. Passengers are allowed to enter railway stations after checking. Passengers have been advised to be at the station half an hour before to avoid delays in boarding.
