BJP, BRS have alliance in Lok Sabha elections 2024: Revanth Reddy
Revanth Reddy questioned why the Prime Minister or the Centre was not going behind KCR to conduct Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax (IT) raids
By Sri Lakshmi Muttevi Published on 4 Oct 2023 11:59 AM GMTHyderabad: It is proved through Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech during his Nizamabad visit that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are working together behind the scenes and have a strong bond like a fevicol," said Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Revanth said, "Our leader Rahul Gandhi had long time back said that BRS means BJP Rishtedar Samiti. Prime Minister Modi revealed the secret friendship between BRS and BJP in his Nizamabad rally. BRS and BJP have 'Delhi mein dosti, galli mein Kusti friendship."
"In Delhi liquor scam, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has requested Narendra Modi not to arrest BRS MLC Kavitha. Modi could have said about this incident also during the public meeting," said Revanth Reddy sarcastically.
After calling him corrupt on many occasions, he questioned why the Prime Minister or the Centre was not going behind KCR to conduct Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax (IT) raids.
BJP to help in splitting votes
"Recently in Parliament, BJP friends and a few BRS sitting MPs told me that though there is no alliance between BJP and BRS in Assembly elections, there is an alliance in Lok Sabha elections. In Assembly elections, BJP will contest in all seats and will split the votes wherever Congress has a chance to win and will help BRS to win," said Revanth.
He stated that, in Lok Sabha elections, BRS will contest in 9 seats, BJP will contest in 7 seats, and MIM in one seat. Along with the 4 sitting seats, BJP asked for Malkajgiri, Mahbubnagar, and Chevella Lok Sabha seats.
"A BRS MP said that the decision on the alliance was also made; BRS is giving my seat to BJP," Revanth added.
Congress will defeat BRS & BJP
Revanth stated that in the coming elections, the Congress party will win, defeating BRS and BJP, who are maintaining a secret relationship.
He demanded KCR to speak out on the comments made by Modi during his visit to Nizamabad.
Ready for discussion with Harish Rao
On the comments made by Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao saying that it was now just a matter of time before Revanth Reddy goes to prison in the note-for-vote case, Revanth Reddy said that the BRS party are trying to divert the issue.
Addressing a public meeting in Kodangal after inaugurating a 50-bed government hospital in Kosgi, Harish Rao said the Supreme Court has rejected Revanth Reddy's plea in the case and made it clear that the investigation should progress. The probe will move forward, and it is certain Revanth will go to prison.
"I worked for the development of Kodangal constituency for ten years. I am ready to discuss what the BRS has developed in five years and what I have done," said Revanth.
Revanth represented the Kodangal constituency as a TDP member, winning twice from there in 2009 and 2014 on that party ticket, and lost in 2018 after he switched to Congress and contested on a Congress ticket. He subsequently won the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 election as a Congress candidate.
