New Delhi/Hyderabad: Two window panes at the Delhi residence of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi have been found broken, police said on Monday. However, a senior police officer said that no stone or any such object was found in the vicinity of the broken glass.
Asaduddin Owaisi, in a press meeting in Hyderabad, said, “Jab kabhi bhi hamara Parliament meih koi bhashan hota hai or important speech, Yeh hamare ghar pe pathar marte hai. (Whenever there is an important speech made in the Parliament, stones are thrown at our house)”
Owaisi said that in Haryana’s Nuh, 750 buildings have been razed and most of the residents were Muslims. "Their homes, medical shops, and establishments have been destroyed. Muslims are being targeted, their homes are being attacked with bulldozers. In my home in Delhi, they are throwing stones.”
Asaduddin Owaisi’s home in Delhi is close to a police station. In February too, stone pelting occurred. At that time, Owaisi had said that it was the fourth time that his home was pelted with stones. Delhi police so far have no leads on who had pelted stones at Owaisi’s Delhi residence.
Phone threats to Owaisi
Asaduddin revealed that he received one threatening SMS and had notified the police about it. “I informed the police concerned that I have received this threatening message and had given a proper letter for the same. I have also given them the number from which the message came. But they were not willing to take action. There is an atmosphere of insecurity which has been created in the last nine years of BJP rule. They have created a hate environment on purpose.”
'Who is pelting stones at my home?'
Asaduddin said, “These are those who are wearing police dress and killing innocent people on trains. These are those people who are mob lynching innocent people. It is this mindset which is to blame. The effect on the people is tremendous. An MP’s home is being continuously attacked even when there is a police headquarters opposite my home.”
“What would happen if it was the home of a BJP MP?” He questioned the Delhi police which has not been able to stop his home from being attacked.
'Not a word on Nuh'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is silent on the violence that has happened in Nuh, said Owaisi. “There is not a word spoken on the bulldozers used in Nuh. These homes have been destroyed and they are on the roads,” he said.
Bulldozers have been used in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. “Why are they not going to court? Why did Home Minister Amit Shah bring these three new police laws? What are they for?” Owaisi asked.
'Social media handles create rift'
“Who are the social media handles that are creating a rift in the country? Why is it that a consistent hate campaign is being run against a community? Why is it not being condemned?” he questioned.
‘PM’s last speech at Red Fort’
“This is the last speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Red Fort and we hope that the PM condemns these actions and speaks strongly against this violence which is being engineered. This environment needs to be condemned. Dekhye kal August 15 ko kya kehte PM. (Let’s see what the PM say on August 15),” Owaisi said.
