Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao resigns from BRS; Is he joining the Congress?

Hyderabad: BRS Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao has resigned from the party. This comes close to a month after the legislator expressed his outburst against BRS senior leader and Health minister T Harish Rao. A big question hovering is, Is Mynampally joining the Telangana Congress party?.

Talks in the political circles that Mynampally Hanumanth Rao has reportedly met top guns in the Indian National Congress in Delhi. The meeting was felicitated through members of a Kerala based political outfit. Telangana Congress Chief A Revanth Reddy is reportedly an old political friend of Mynampally during their Telugu Desam Party regime in United Andhra Pradesh.

If sources are to be believed, Mynampally is seeking a ticket for at least four assembly constituencies, if he joins the Congress. Reportedly he is seeking a ticket for himself, Medak for his son Rohit Mynampally, while Medchal and Secunderabad Cantonment board for his close associates.

Refusing to give a ticket to Rohit Mynampally for Medak assembly constituency caused cracks in the political equation between Mynampally and Minister Harish Rao. Former Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy is currently the sitting MLA in Medak and she is likely to stand a chance again.

The cracks were noticed when Mynampally expressed his anger against Harish Rao. In a video, Mynampally Hanumanth Rao made a scathing attack on Harish Rao, blaming him for the lack of development in the Medak assembly constituency. "I will definitely teach him a lesson. He came carrying a suitcase and wearing rubber chappals. Now look where he is. I don't have time now. I will concentrate on Malkajgiri, and my son will fight from the Medak constituency. Later, I will make sure that Harish Rao will have no address in Siddipet constituency," Hanumanth Rao was allegedly heard saying in the video. In the video, he promised to bring down Harish Rao. The video was released just hours before KCR announced the first list of BRS candidates.
