BRS MLA G Sayanna dies of cardiac arrest in Hyderabad
Sayanna was known as a polite and humble man and politician.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 19 Feb 2023 11:09 AM GMTHyderabad: Secunderabad Cantonment MLA G. Sayanna died of a cardiac arrest at Yasodha Hospitals in Secunderabad on Sunday. He was 71 years old.
The five-time MLA currently with the BRS party suffered from kidney-related ailments and was admitted to the hospital three days ago. Doctors confirmed he suffered a cardiac arrest. Sayanna was known as a polite and humble man and politician.
He started his political career with the Telugu Desam Party and won thrice from the Secunderabad Cantonment seat in the undivided Andhra Pradesh in 1994, 19991, and 2009 as the MLA. In the 2009 elections, he was defeated. He was also elected as a member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) board in 2015 when Chandrababu Naidu was Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. Later, he joined Bharat Rashtra Samithi (then TRS), defeating Sarve Satyanarayana of the Congress with a majority of 37,568 votes. He got elected as MLA from the Secunderabad Cantonment constituency in 2018.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao condoled the demise of Secunderabad Cantonment MLA Sayanna. The Chief Minister remembered the departed MLA's service to the people as five-time MLA and through various positions. CM KCR conveyed his deep condolences to the bereaved family members.
BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao expressed his condolences over the demise of Sayanna. He posted an emotional message on Twitter.
