By-poll race heats up: KCR to visit Munugode on 30 Oct
Ahead of the high-octane Munugode by-elections to be held on 3 November, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will be at Bangarigadda village in Chandur mandal, Munugode on 30 October for a day campaign.

The president of Bharatiya Janata Party, J.P Nadda, was reportedly supposed to visit the constituency as well. However, BJP sources have confirmed to NewsMeter that the visit has been cancelled. As per sources, BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy will continue visiting various mandals in the constituency till 1 November.
A three-day training for the by-poll is being conducted in Nalgonda by district collector T. Vinay Krishna Reddy. Also, 1,495 polling officers have been appointed for the seven mandals of the Munugode constituency.

After days of playing multiple election strategies, all the parties are at loggerheads with each other.
Nearly 130 nominations were filed ahead of the elections. Now, only 47 candidates remain in the race.
While the BJP announced former Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy as its candidate, Telangana Rashtra Samithi announced former MLA and constituency in charge Koosukuntla Prabhakar Reddy as its candidate.
The Indian National Congress, on 9 September, approved the candidature of Palvai Sravanthi for Munugode. While the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) announced Andoju Shankara Chari as its candidate
The by-election was necessitated by the resignation of MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy on 8 August. He quit the Congress party and joined the BJP. He is also the BJP candidate for the upcoming by-elections.
Munugode is part of the Nalgonda district's Bhongir Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency. The constituency has 2,00,956 voters, including 1,02,801 male voters and 98,146 female voters.
In the 2018 election, Congress candidate Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy defeated TRS candidate Koosakuntla Prabhakar Reddy. Rajgopal Reddy (INC) got 97,239 votes (48.90%), Koosakuntla Prabhakar Reddy (TRS) got 74,687 votes (37.56%) votes and BJP's Gangidi Manohar Reddy got 12,725 votes (6.40 %).
