New Delhi: A Rs 100 commemorative coin featuring the illustrious image of the former chief minister of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, NT Rama Rao, was unveiled in New Delhi by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu.

The ceremony took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, in the presence of NTR’s family members, including TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu, AP state BJP president Daggubati Purandeswari, and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna.





The coin pays tribute to the extraordinary contributions of NTR as an actor, politician, and visionary leader.

Coin features Ashoka Chakra

The NTR coin has been issued by the Central government to commemorate his centenary birth celebrations. The Rs 100 coin has a diameter of 44 mm and is composed of 50 per cent silver, 40 per cent copper, 5 per cent nickel, and 5 per cent zinc. One side of the coin features three lions and the Ashoka Chakra, while the other side has NTR’s picture with the wording ‘Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Satajayanti’ engraved, in Hindi, below it. The coin is marked with the years 1923-2023 to signify NTR’s centenary celebrations.

The NTR commemorative coin will be available for purchase through multiple channels from August 29 at 10 am.

Saifabad Mint sale counter: For those who prefer an in-person buying experience, the commemorative coin will be available for purchase at the Saifabad Mint sale counter.

IG Mint Cherlapally sale counter: The NTR commemorative coin will also be available for purchase at the IG Mint Cherlapally sale counter.

In order to ensure that this cherished memento reaches as many admirers as possible, there could be a restriction on the number of coins issued to a single individual as per the demand.
