Hyderabad: On Wednesday, the President of India appointed Chada Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy as the Judge of Telangana High Court. Earlier in February, the Supreme Court Collegium had approved the proposal for the elevation of seven advocates and five judicial officers as Judges in the Telangana High Court.
Ten new judges were appointed to the Telangana High Court on March 22, 2022 after being recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium. In the Seven Advocates, which the Supreme Court Collegium proposed, Chada Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy is one of them.
The Department of Justice in the Law Ministry issued a notification announcing the appointment of Chada Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy as the Judge of Telangana High Court. Further, the notification clarified that Chada Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy will be the Judge of Telangana High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
In June 2021, the bench strength of Telangana High Court, which has over 2.3 lakh pending cases, increased from 24 to 42 judges. The Telangana High Court is currently working at a strength of 27 judges against a sanctioned strength of 42 judges, with a vacancy of 15 judges.
