Visakhapatnam: Vizag city police have blocked all the roads leading to the beach area after TDP called for a 'Chalo Rushikonda' march against alleged illegal constructions. Many protesting TDP leaders were also arrested.

Students of two Engineering colleges in the Rushikonda have been asked to return home. People working in the area are only allowed after showing their ID cards. All the shops located in Rushikonda have been asked to close today. Rushikonda beach has also been shut for tourists. The area has been sealed off and vehicle checks are underway at Tagarapuvalasa highway.

Ever since the government called for tenders for the construction of a guest house on the hill, TDP has demanded to stop the construction of illegal buildings. It is said that the government-owned Haritha Guest House is in dilapidated condition. The government is building another guest house.
