Watch: Naidu holds dharna at Tirupati airport after being detained
By Newsmeter Network Published on 1 March 2021 6:45 AM GMTTirupati, March 1: TDP chief Nara Chandra Babu Naidu on Monday staged a sit-in at Tirupati Airport after police denied him permission to hold protest rallies at Chittoor district headquarters.
Chittoor and Tirupati urban police denied permission to Telugu Desam party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu's protest programmes citing Covid-19 guidelines, model code of conduct and other reasons.

Naidu was scheduled to take part in two protest programmes at Chittoor and Tirupati on Monday. Naidu was also supposed to meet RP Srinivas whose tea stall was alleged to be razed by civic officials in Tirupati.
Renigunta police served notices to Naidu inside the Tirupati airport. Naidu was forced to remain at the lounge. He refused to budge after the police asked him to return. Several TD leaders were taken into custody at the Tirupati airport.
While TDP district president Venkatamani Prasad submitted a requisition to Chittoor police for permission, it was rejected on Sunday night.

Similarly, requisitions by former TDP legislator M Sugunamma and TUDA ex-chairman G Narasimha Yadav for protest programme were rejected by the Tirupati urban police around midnight on Sunday.
