First Telugu CM to reach fourth term

His party TDP alone has bagged 136 seats in the State Assembly polls. He will be the first Telugu chief minister to take oath for the fourth term ā€“ chief minister in 1995, 1999 in united Andhra Pradesh and 2014 and 2024 in divided AP.

In an alliance with the Jana Sena Party (JSP) and BJP in the state, the trio uprooted the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP from the hot seat. The TDP-JSP-BJP alliance together have won 165 seats leaving Jagan without even an Opposition label.

Pawan kingmaker in AP; Naidu kingmaker for Delhi

What is more astonishing is that JSP, a 10-year-old regional party, managed to strike 100 per cent of its targets; Pawan Kalyan-led Glass party contested 21 seats and won all 21.

It appears like JSP chief ā€˜Power Starā€™ Pawan Kalyan is the kingmaker in the state, while his senior alliance party Chandrababu Naidu will be a kingmaker at the Centre.

PK stitched the alliance from scratch

If it was not for Pawan Kalyan, the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance would have never been stitched.

ā€œSince the beginning, he has been friends with the BJP. He played a significant role in bringing them together,ā€ his brother and star campaigner Nagababu told NewsMeter.

When asked if he (Pawan Kalyan) will take up the post of deputy chief minister or any portfolio he said, ā€œI donā€™t think PK will take up any post or ministry. He will be the ā€˜conscious thinkerā€™ for the government. He wonā€™t ask for a position but he will be one of the decision makers. He will be the Bal Keshav Thackeray in AP. He is of a chief ministerā€™s stature and cannot settle for a ministry. He has it all in him to be the next CM of AP. Besides asking for prominent posts for JSP MLAs, PK will also hold a power alliance on the ground,ā€ Nagababu added.
