Chevella meet: Kharge slams KCR, Modi, reminds people that Congress created Telangana
Congress president Kharge is in Telangana for the declaration of 12 promises which the party will deliver if it comes to power in the Assembly elections.

On one side, he says I am secular but on the other side he goes along with Modi,ā said Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge at the at Chevalla meeting for the Praja Garjana Sabha. āBharath Rashtra Samiti and Bharatiya Janta Party have now become friends. They cannot speak about it. Now they stop speaking here (against each other),ā he said.
Congress president Kharge is in Telangana for the declaration of 12 promises which the party will deliver if it comes to power in the Assembly elections.
Telangana state will see elections at the end of 2023.
All people fought for Telangana
Kharge strongly came down on Chief Minister KCR saying that he is alone in taking credit for the fight for Telangana. Kharge says, āIt is the people of Telangana who have fought for the state. It is not only one man who fought for the state. Telangana bana janta ki wajeh se, toh unki party kaha thi us waqt. Humne unko Shakti di, Sonia Gandhi ne kosish ki, ek admi itna credit leh raha hai,ā he said.
Modi has gone from 60 years to 53 years
In the public meeting, Kharge asked the Congress party leaders on the dias when is Prime Minister Narendra Modi coming to Hyderabad.
Kharge says, āNow Modi does not say 60 years of Congress rule. He has calculated and the years of Morarji Desai, Vajpayee have been subtracted by him and he is asking Congress party report card of 53 years. I would like to tell him that the IIT, IIM, ISRO, AIMS, GAIL, HUL and all other public sector undertakings have been started by Congress party. I would also like to point out that the literacy rate in 1947 was 18 percent and 2014 it was 69 percent. This is what the Congress party has done.ā
12 Declarations
For the Assembly elections of Telangana, Congress party launched the 12 points of declaration. The declaration was read by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy before the speech of Congress president Kharge.
The 12 points are:
1) 18 percent reservation for Scheduled caste towards SC classification
2) 12 percent reservation for Scheduled Tribes
3) Rs 12 lakhs per family to SCs and STs
4) 18 percent reservation for SCs and 12 percent reservation for STs in government contracts
5) Reservations for SC, STs in private schools and private companies
6) Land for the landless
7) Rs 6 lakhs help for construction of houses
8) Full proprietary rights for assigned lands given to SCS
9) Full proprietary rights of Podu lands to STs
10) Rs 25 lakhs per annum each for development of tribal thandas
11) 3 SC corporations each (Mala, Madiga and other sub-castes) with a budget of Rs 750 crores
12) 3 ST corporations each with a budget of Rs 500 crores
Kharge said, āWhen we come to power in Telangana, we will fulfil all our promises. We are fulfilling all the promises we have made in Karnataka.ā
Andar ke log dhoka dete hai
Congress president Kharge told the senior leaders on the dias and all the workers, āJab andar ke log dhoka dete hai, toh bahut dukh hota hai.ā He looked at the leaders on the dias and was angry how Congressmen after winning left and joined BRS in Telangana.
Among those present, included AICC Telangana in-charge Manikrao Thakre, TPCC president Revanth Reddy, CLP Leader Bhatti Vikramarka, Vikram, Renuka Chowdhury, Mohammad Azharuddin, Meenakshi Natarajan, Uttam Kumar Reddy, K Raju, Damodar Raj Narsimha, Hanumanth Rao, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Madhu Yakshi Goud, Renuka Choudhary, Balram Naik, Seethakka, Jana Reddy, Sridhar Babu, Shabbir Ali, Dr Sampath Kumar, Vamshi Reddy and DCC President Narasimha Reddy.
