Jagtial: CM KCR allots Rs 500 crore for development of Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple

Hyderabad: After Yadadri temple redevelopment, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao allocated Rs 500 crore to develop Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple at Kondagattu in Jagtial district.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was on a visit to Jagtial on Wednesday. The allocation to the temple is in addition to Rs.100 crore announced during the State budget for 2023-24.

Developing a pilgrim center

CM KCR visited the temple, offered rituals and checked the possibilities for redevelopment of the temple town. "The Anjaneya Swamy temple should be developed into a major pilgrim center in the country. Hanuman Jayanthi should also be celebrated in this temple like no other temple celebrates", said KCR. The development works of the temple are likely to be completed in another three years.

Redevelopment keeping the devotees in mind

During a review meeting with the temple architects, and priests, KCR said that the redevelopment of the Anjaneya Swamy temple should be done in strict adherence to Agama Shastra in order to cater to the needs of the increasing rush of devotees, with all grandeur and facilities. The temple redesign will be done in accordance with Vaishnava norms.

He directed the officials to prepare a draft master plan for redesigning and redevelopment of the temple and its surroundings, which will be on around 750-850 acres of land. However, the authorities were told not to disturb the sanctum sanctorum or the presiding deity during the expansion and redevelopment of the temple, as per vaastu.

The development works include transportation facilities, entrance and exit points for the temple, cottage facilities, 86 acres of parking facility, Kalyana kattu, bathing facilities, and koneru. Arrangements will be made for supplying water from Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme to meet the temple's needs.

Other amenities to be developed

In the review meeting, CM asked about the other amenities in the area and stated that there must be an exclusive power sub-station, hospital, bus stand and a police station.

People visit for Hanuman Deeksha

Anjaneya Swamy temple, which is one of the most popular and believed to be powerful, is visited by lakhs of devotees who undertake the 'Hanuman' Deeksha every year.

Earlier in January, Jana Sena party chief Pawan Kalyan performed ā€˜Vahana Poojaā€™ for his election campaign vehicle 'Varahi' at Kondagattu Sri Anjaneyaswamy.
