CM KCR assess damage of farmers due to rain & hail, compensates Rs 10,000 per acre

The unseasonal rain, hail storms in March have damaged 2,22,250 acres of crops

Hyderabad: The unseasonal rain and hailstorms in March 2023 have damaged 2,22,250 acres of crops in Telangana. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao who visited the farmers on Thursday in Khammam, Mahabubabad and Warangal districts interacted with them to assess the damage.

In Mahabubabad, KCR is seen in the field interacting with the farmers who have suffered due to the unseasonal rains and hail.



CM assess loss at ground level

It must be noted that after a long time, KCR came to the fields to assess the damage. He has not called for reports from collectors but is seen personally speaking to farmers to understand the damage on crops.

The evaluation in three districts so far has shown that maize in 1,29,446 acres, paddy in 72,709 acres, mango in 8,865 acres and other crops in 17,238 acres are affected.



Relief of Rs 10,000 per acre

KCR assured the farmers that relief will be provided. A compensation of Rs 10,000 per acre has been announced for the farmers. The collectors and other government officers were at the ground level to brief the CM with photographs of the damage and the ascertained loss to farmers. KCR says, “The crop damage is being assessed and farmers are going to be compensated.”



CM talks about the opposition

In his conversation and also press briefings, KCR spoke in detail about how the opposition is working hard to dismantle all the good work done by him. He says, “My government has provided for the well-being of the farmers but the opposition is working on false propaganda. He appealed to them to not get carried away by their false narratives.”

KCR to not send crop loss report to center

In his meeting with farmers, KCR made it clear that the government will not send crop loss report to the central government. This is as a mark of protest.

A full-day tour

A full-day helicopter and car ride was planned by KCR along with Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply Errabelli Dayakar Rao. In Khammam district, they visited Bonakal mandal, Ramapuram village, Reddykunta Thanda in Pedavangara mandal, Palakurti constituency.

In Mahbubabad district, they visited Adivirangapuram village, Duggondi mandal. The CM convoy also visited Warangal and Karimnagar districts. At every location, he addressed the farmers and spoke to them. In Mahabubabad, he went to the field to assess the damage along with the farmers.
