CM Naidu approves SPV to transform Amaravati; CRDA sanctions tenders for building roads spanning 53.68 km
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has approved the formation of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to oversee multiple flagship projects in the capital region.

SPV to oversee landmark initiatives
The SPV will be responsible for developing a Greenfield airport, Smart industries, an iconic bridge, sports city, riverfront, ropeway, inner ring road, and the statue of former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao.
The Chief Minister also directed the inclusion of a biodesign project aimed at creating a world-class health city in Amaravati, with experts from seven countries ready to contribute.
Upgrading infrastructure and urban design
The CRDA approved tenders for road development spanning 53.68 km, connecting government complexes across Amaravati. Officials were also instructed to prepare urban design and architectural guidelines to enhance the capital’s visual appeal and modernity.
Convention centres to set Global Standards
Land allotments were approved for agencies proposing convention centres in Amaravati. The Chief Minister emphasized that these centres must adhere to global standards. Officials were advised to secure farmers’ consent first before land acquisition, ensuring development proceeds smoothly.
Hotels show interest in Convention Centres
Officials informed the Chief Minister that several leading hotels have expressed interest in setting up convention centres in the capital region. While some have already been allotted land, others have submitted fresh applications for allotment.
Focus on Global Standards and Farmer-Friendly Land Acquisition
The Chief Minister assured officials that land would be provided for these projects, emphasizing that the facilities must meet global standards. On future land acquisitions outlined in the master plan, Naidu directed that discussions with farmers be held to ensure the process causes no inconvenience to them.
Tourism Development and Iconic Bridge Plans
During the meeting, a PowerPoint presentation was made on the construction of the iconic bridge. The Chief Minister also suggested developing the islands in the Krishna River as tourist attractions.
CRDA to get additional staff
To manage the growing workload of CRDA projects, the Chief Minister approved the appointment of additional staff on a deputation basis. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana and other senior officials attended the meeting.
