CM Naidu launches 100-day action plan and mobile app for AP water security
Tadipatri: Chief Minister N Chandrababu unveiled a 100-day action plan focused on water conservation. He also launched a dedicated mobile application aimed at strengthening water security and empowering water users’ associations.
Top priority for water security: CM
Participating in ‘Jaladhara’, a Water Security & Responsibility of Water Users Associations’ program at Yadiki in Anantapur district on Monday, the Chief Minister stated that water security is a top priority for the state.
He said efforts are on to capture, store and efficiently utilise water.
‘Groundwater levels have increased’
He noted that Andhra Pradesh is number one in micro-irrigation, with an investment of Rs 1,031 crore. Due to drip irrigation initiatives, Rayalaseema has emerged as a horticulture hub. There was a significant improvement in groundwater levels, which increased by 1.92 meters.
The Chief Minister stated that Rayalaseema will witness development through the ‘Purvodaya’ scheme. He said projects like Handri-Neeva and Pattiseema have played a key role in water distribution, ensuring irrigation even to tail-end lands.
Reaffirming the government’s stand, the Chief Minister declared that Amaravati is the only capital of Andhra Pradesh.
‘Andhra Pradesh is a top-performing state’
He criticised the previous government for creating confusion with a ‘three-capital’ proposal. He said the government aims to make Andhra Pradesh a top-performing state by 2047.
The Chief Minister reiterated that his goal is to provide efficient, accountable governance while ensuring water security, development and welfare for all.
Earlier, before addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister, accompanied by MLA Ashmit Reddy, visited the stalls set up at the venue. The Chief Minister also presented the progress report of the Tadipatri constituency during the meeting.
