CM Naidu tops richest CM list with assets worth Rs 931 crores; Khandu, Siddaramaiah follow

Amaravati: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has topped the list of richest CMs in the country with assets worth over Rs 931 crores.

This has been stated from the data by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW), compiled and analysed from the self-sworn affidavits of all 31 current chief ministers in State Assemblies and Union Territories across the nation. The data has been compiled from affidavits filed by the chief ministers before contesting their last elections.

CMs with the highest assets

CM Chandrababu Naidu has assets worth Rs 9,31,83,70,656, with Rs 8,10,42,29,047 movable assets and Rs 1,21,41,41,609 in immovable assets. Second on the list is Arunachal Pradesh CM Prema Khandu with Rs 332 crore assets, and Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah is third with Rs 51 crore assets.




CMs with the lowest assets

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has the lowest assets of Rs 15,38,029. Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah holds assets worth Rs 55 lakhs and Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan has assets worth Rs 1 crore.




A total of 10 chief ministers have declared liabilities of Rs 1 crore and above, and the details of the top 3 chief ministers are as follows: among the three is CM Chandrababu Naidu with Rs 10 crore liabilities; Prema Khandu has liabilities worth Rs 180 crores and Siddaramaiah has liabilities worth Rs 23 crores.

Out of the 31 chief ministers analysed, two CMs (6%) are billionaires. The total assetsā€™ worth of all 31 chief ministers is Rs 1,630 crores.

Criminal background

Out of all 31 chief ministers analysed from State Assemblies and Union Territories 13 chief ministers (42%) have declared criminal cases against themselves.




Financial background

The average of assets per chief minister from State Assemblies and Union Territories is Rs 52.59 crores.

According to the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Indiaā€™s per capita net national income or NNI is approximately Rs 1,85,854 for the financial year 2023-2024. Compared to this, the average self-income of a chief minister is Rs 13,64,310, which is 7.3 times more than the average per capita income of India.
