CM Revanth pulls up officials for slow implementation of govt schemes
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday expressed serious displeasure over the poor performance of some senior officials in implementing government schemes and developmental programmes.
He cautioned that negligence or delay in executing welfare measures would not be tolerated and warned that strict action would be taken against erring officers.
CM pulls up officials for Negligence
At a review meeting held at his residence with Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and senior officials of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the Chief Minister said several officers continued to show a careless attitude despite repeated instructions from the government.
He reminded Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, and Heads of Departments (HoDs) that they were expected to work with a sense of urgency and dedication, keeping in mind the aspirations of the people who voted the government to power.
“The government will not tolerate indifference in the implementation of its flagship programmes. Officials must perform in line with the government’s vision and deliver results,” the Chief Minister remarked.
‘Don’t take independent decisions’
Revanth Reddy warned officials against taking unilateral decisions that could harm the image of the government. He said all major policy and administrative decisions should be taken only after proper consultation and coordination with other departments.
“The actions of every official reflect on the government. You must ensure transparency, accountability, and collective responsibility in every task,” he said.
Chief secretary told to monitor progress
The Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao to regularly review the progress of all welfare and developmental works.
He instructed that reports be sought from every department on a regular basis and the implementation gaps identified immediately.
The CMO officials were also told to alert the government on priority issues and suggest corrective measures wherever necessary to speed up execution.
Focus on Central Grants and Pending Funds
Reviewing the status of central funds, the Chief Minister urged the officials to expedite efforts to secure the release of pending grants and funds under centrally sponsored schemes.
He asked departments to prioritise those projects for which the state’s share had already been released but were awaiting matching funds from the Centre.
Weekly reports made mandatory
To ensure better monitoring and timely action, Revanth Reddy directed the Chief Secretary and CMO to submit weekly reports on the performance of each department. He said he would personally review the reports to assess progress and accountability.
“The benefits of government schemes must reach the people without delay. Any lapse in delivery will invite strict action,” the Chief Minister warned, concluding the meeting with a call for efficiency, coordination, and a renewed sense of responsibility among all departments.
