Congress’ 45: Leaders’ kins feature on list; late Gaddar’s daughter given ticket

Telangana: Congress’ second list of candidates features many names who are kins of top political leaders.

Of the 45 candidates, eight are from BC, 22 are from the Reddy community, three from the Kamma community, one from the Brahmin community, and the remaining are the SC and STs.

With this, the party has announced 100 candidates for the 119-member Telangana assembly.

Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, who joined the party after resigning from the BJP, was given the ticket Munugode constituency, while TPCC Campaign Committee chairman Madhu Yaskhi Goud was fielded from L B Nagar. He did not figure in the first list. Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar, who was expecting his name on the first list, was given a ticket from the Husnabad seat.

Former captain of the Indian cricket team Mohammad Azharuddin will contest from Jubilee Hills constituency.

Family ties in politics

In the second list:

1. K Madan Mohan Rao from Yella Reddy constituency is the son-in-law of BRS Minister Errabelli Dayakar.

2. Juvvadi Narsinga Rao from Koratla is the son of former minister late Juvvadi Ratnakar Rao.

3. Vodithala Pranav from Huzurabad is the grandson of former RS MP from BRS Capitan Laxmi Kanth.

4. Cheruku Srinivas Reddy from Dubbak is the son of late Congress four-time MLA and former minister Cheruku Muthyam Reddy.

5. V Jagadeeshwar Goud from Serlingampally's brother Mallikarjuna Goud was a minister in Congress.

6. P Vijaya Reddy from Khairatabad is the daughter of P Janardhan Reddy known as PJR, a party leader and labor leader from Andhra Pradesh, who served as a five-times MLA.

7. Dr GV Vennela from Secunderabad Cantonment is the daughter of Late Gaddar.

8. Dr Parnika Chittem Reddy from Narayanpeta is a relative of the National vice-president of BJP DK Aruna and granddaughter of former MLA S Rajender Reddy.

9. Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy from Munugode is the brother of Komatireddy Venkat Reddy who was given Nalgonda constituency.

1. Gaddam Vinod from Ballampalle is the son of former Union Minister G Venkat Swamy.

2. Mynampally Rohit from Medak is the son of Mynampally Hanumantha Rao.

3. C Damodar Raja Narasimha from Andole is the son of Congress MLA and former deputy CM for united Andhra Pradesh Raja Narasimha.

4. Gaddam Prasad Kumar from Vikarabad is the relative of former Union Minister Gaddam Venkat Swamy.

5. Jayaveer Kunduru is the son of Veteran leader Kunduru Jana Reddy.
