Congress all set for mega CWC meeting, Vijayabheri, will make 6 promises to Telangana

Hyderabad: KC Venugopal, the general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) announced that the Congress party will be announcing six guarantees to the people of Telangana, during the mega Vijayabheri rally scheduled for September 17. These six guarantees will be implemented within 30 days of coming to power, TPCC president Revanth Reddy said.

Addressing the media, after inspecting the arrangements of Vijayabheri Sabha in Tukkuguda on Friday, Venugopal, along with Revanth Reddy, said that the guarantees will be announced by party senior leader Sonia Gandhi, who he said, has promised Telangana and delivered. However, the ruling TRS government has destroyed the dreams of Telangana youth, he said. “Certainly, under KCR, the state is the most corrupt in the entire country,” he said.

After the Vijayabheri lunch on Sunday, Congress MPs from Telangana will attend the Parliament sessions, but other leaders of Telangana will visit all 115 constituencies presenting ‘chargesheets’ against the K Chandrashekar Rao-led state government, he said.

Party’s national strategy to be decided at CWC

Venugopal said that the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting will start at 2 pm on September 16. As many as 90 people, including Congress chief ministers of four states, will attend the meeting. This CWC will discuss the election preparations in five state Assemblies and a national strategy will be formulated, he said.

There will be an extended working committee meeting at 10:30 am on Sunday, he said.

Venugopal said that the party is confident that INC will form governments in all key five states, including Telangana. After the three consecutive meetings of the INDIA alliance, the country’s atmosphere has totally changed. “People are anxiously and hopefully looking for the INDIA alliance to form the government,” he said.

Revanth welcomes everyone to Vijayabheri

TPCC president Revanth Reddy appealed to the intellectuals, Telangana movement activists, students and unemployed to welcome Sonia Gandhi irrespective of politics.

He said that Sonia Gandhi will announce six guarantees in Vijayabheri Sabha. “Soniamma kept the promise she made during the Karimnagar meeting back then to give Telangana,” he said. Revanth Reddy assured that in the same manner, the six guarantees that will be announced in Vijayabheri will be fulfilled.

Revanth Reddy alleged that the state government wanted to prevent the Congress meeting from happening using deceptive politics. But the farmers came forward to give the land to the ‘Soniyamma Sabha’, who gave Telangana.
