Congress Govt announces 21% pay increase to TSRTC employees from June 1
The salary bill for TSRTC will increase by Rs 35 crores per month and Rs 418 crores per annum

The previous BRS government gave a 16 per cent pay revision to the TSRTC employees in 2017.
Salary revision to cost TSRTC Rs 418 crores more annually
Speaking to the media at the TSRTC bus bhavan here, minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar said that despite the financial crisis, the State government announced a pay revision of 21 per cent to the employees. The salary bill for TSRTC will increase by Rs 35 crores per month and Rs 418 crores per annum which would benefit as many as 53,071 employees, he said.
āBRS didnāt revise wages after 2017ā
Prabhakar said that the State government is committed to the welfare of the TSRTC employees and crucial decisions will be taken for their upliftment.
āFor every four years, the pay scale of TSRTC employees should be revised. However, the previous BRS government gave only 16 per cent pay revision to the employees in 2017 and since then there was no enhancement of pay during their tenure,ā he said.
The transport minister further said that pay revision arrears would also be paid to the retired employees without any interest. As per the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) 2017, the financial benefits would be applicable for as many as 42,057 employees in service and as many as 11,014 employees who retired from their services in the corporation from April 1, 2017. In all, a total of 53,071 employees would be financially benefited, he added.
2,500 new buses from June
On the Mahalakshmi scheme, Prabhakar said that over 25 crore women utilised the free bus travel in Telangana from December 9 to March 9 under the Congressā flagship Mahalakshmi scheme.
āThe demand for bus operations is increasing gradually from various districts of the state. We are going to introduce over 2,500 new buses in a phased manner by June to ensure a hassle-free journey for the passengers,ā the transport minister said.
