Telangana: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) kicked off its election campaign from Vikarabad on Monday.

Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled to be held on November 30. The counting of votes will be held on December 3.

"We are not repeating the mistake of 2018. We have convinced Chandrasekhar and gave Zaheerabad and Vikarabad tickets to Prasad," TPCC president Revanth Reddy said.

Revanth was accorded a grand welcome at the venue.

He asked the public to make Congress win in the 5 assembly seats in Vikarabad district.

"While KCR started his campaign from Husnabad, we are starting our campaign from Vikarabad. Let's see who will win on December 3," said Revanth Reddy.

"The Congress hopes that the farmers of this region should be relieved of their hardships with the Pranahitha Chevella irrigation project. But even after ten years of Telangana government rule, farmers' dreams have not been fulfilled. Is KCR the cause of the project being abandoned? Isn't BRS the reason why Godavari water is not coming to this region?ā€ questioned Revanth.

He pointed out how Minister KT Rama Rao spoke about student suicide in the hostel. There were allegations that she died after the continuous postponement of TSPSC examinations.

Revanth said the BRS-led government is trying to cover the reason and manipulate the case.

"On December 9, the Congress party will sign on the files related to six guarantee schemes," he said

He accused Bharat Rashtra Samithi of copying the Congress's manifesto for the upcoming state Assembly elections. Revanth pointed out that while Congress promised a pension of Rs 4000, KCR's party increased it to Rs 5,000.

Similarly, he said that Congress promised Rs 2,500 for women and a subsidized rate of Rs 500 for gas cylinders, and KCR changed the amounts to Rs 3,000 and Rs 400 respectively.

Later, Nizamabad District Bodan Municipal Chairman Tumu Padmavathy, Councilors Sarath Reddy, Srikanth Goud, Pitla Satyanarayana, Nazeer Ali, Imran, Javeed, Abdullah, Talla Lata, Ravicandra Sarpanchulu Anjamma, Rangopal Reddy, former MPTC Bal Raju Goud joined the Congress party on Monday. They were invited to Revanth Reddy's party by wearing a scarf at their residence in Jubilee Hills.
