COVID-19: TS reports 2,047 cases; 3 deaths in the last 24 hours

COVID-19: TS reports 2,047 cases; 3 deaths in the last 24 hours

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 2,047 new COVID-19 cases on January 16, Sunday, pushing the cumulative caseload to 7,09,209. Three COVID-19 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in the state.

On Saturday, the state had reported 1,963 cases. The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 22,048.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported the highest number of cases (1,174) in the last 24 hours followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri (178), Rangareddy (140), and Hanumakonda (69).

A total of 2,013 people recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries so far to 6,83,104 constituting a recovery rate of 96.31%.

As many as 55,883 samples were tested in the state during the past 24 hours out of which the results of 9,829 swab samples are awaited. A total of 3,06,29,520 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.

A total of 1,53,699 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Sunday. Around 31,529 were the first dose, 1,16,804 were the second dose, and 5,366 were booster dose.
