Darknet & drugs: Students, techies arrested at Maithrivanam, 19 LSD blots seized
Besides the LSD, the police also seized a laptop and six cell phones – all worth Rs. 3 lakh.

Among the arrested is N. Sai Vignesh, a student at the University of Hyderabad (UoH), who had bought the drugs on the Dark Web.
Besides the LSD, the police also seized a laptop and six cell phones – all worth Rs. 3 lakh.
The others who were arrested have been identified as Sai Chaitra, a student of Prathibha Degree College; Nagarjuna, a student of Avinash College of Commerce; Hemanth, an associate in Novartis; Sai Balaji, an employee of DXC Technologies; and Anudeep, a software developer.
Another accused, Tejaswi Kumar who works at Tech Mahendra, is absconding.
In January, Sai Vignesh, a student of the University of Hyderabad and a resident of Gajularamaram, had purchased 20 LSD blots on the Dark Web. In February, he again purchased 20 blots of LSD. He along with his friends had gathered at Maithrivanam to consume the drugs.
After receiving a tip-off, the sleuths of the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing along with SR Nagar police apprehended the accused persons and seized 19 blots of LSD. The arrested persons and the seized material were handed over to the SHO of SR Nagar police station for further investigation.
The Hyderabad city police have appealed to the youth and students not to fall prey to drugs. They have also requested the parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children and approach the police or pass information to curb the drug menace in the city.
