'Dasara gift': KCR announces Rs 400 Cr 'Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme' for students
All the students (from classes 1 to 10 will be eligible for the scheme
By Newsmeter Network Published on 16 Sep 2023 1:48 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana government has decided to launch the 'Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme' for the students of government primary and high schools from October 24.
All the students (from classes 1 to 10 will be eligible for the scheme. The announcement was made at a time when the state is gearing up for the assembly elections.
The main objective of the scheme is to provide good nutritious food to underprivileged students along with quality study. The government is also aiming to help students to concentrate on their studies. The state government will implement the scheme from Dasara.
KCR said the scheme was designed keeping in view the difficulties faced by students' parents who are farm workers and leave for work in the morning.
KCR said the state government has issued orders in this regard.
Earlier, KCR had sent a team of IAS officers to examine the procedure of this scheme which is being successfully implemented in Tamil Nadu. Later the team of officers submitted a report to the government.
However, the scheme in Tamil Nadu is up to primary classes.
KCR, however, decided to provide breakfast up to class 10. The government will be spending Rs 400 crore on this scheme.
