DAV School rape: Driver arrested, principal booked for allowing accused inside class

Hyderabad: Police have booked the Principal of the BSD DAV Public School in the sexual assault case of a 4-year-old student. Banjara Hills SHO M Narendar said that a case has been registered against the Principal and the Principal's driver under section 364, 376(a) (b) of IPC and under POSCO Act.

"The principal has been booked for his negligence in restricting his driver's access to the classrooms," said the SHO. He said that a notice has been served to the Principal on Tuesday night. Police said he will be arrested today.

Police arrested the Principal's driver on Tuesday and produced him before the magistrate. Police said they have obtained the CCTV footage of the incident.

In a shocking incident, a four-year-old girl studying at BSD DAV Public School in Banjara Hills was raped by the school Principal's driver. According to sources, the driver has been sexually assaulting the girl for the past two months. Meanwhile, the parents noticed changes in the girl's behavior as she was not answering questions.

According to sources, the driver used to come to the digital classroom and cause trouble to the children. As a result, many children were afraid of him.

On 18 October 2022, at 3:45 PM, the Banjara Hills police received a complaint from then a 4 year old's mother. The victim, who has been studying in LKG at BSDAV School since 5 months, has been reportedly suffering from leg pains and fear.

On October 17, the victim confided in her mother than the accused Rajani Kumar has been sexually assualuting her in the a digital classroom inside school premises. The victim stated that the accused pressed her neck, removed her clothes, and touched her private parts as well.

The victim's mother along with her husband immediately visited the school. During the visit, the victim identified the accused who has been reportedly harassing her for the past two months.

The parents found that the accused is the school principal's driver.

The parents are of the opinion the entire incident took place in the school which clearly indicates the negligence of Principal Madhavi Therefore, they requested to take necessary action against Rajani Kumar and Madhavi as per law.

Meanwhile, parents of the students of DAV Public School staged a protest outside the Banjara Hills police station on Tuesday night demanding them to take action against the Principal.

Hyderabad School Parents' Association (HSPA) condemned the incident. The Association demanded strict action against the perpetrators.
