Selfie deaths
A similar incident took place nearly a year ago in which two youths from Nalgonda died at Dindi reservoir while taking a selfie.
In another event, an intermediate student received grievous injuries on 4 September this year after being hit by a train while he was trying to make an Instagram reel just inches away from a railway track. The injured student was identified as Ajay, a first-year intermediate student.
The mishap took place on the Vaddepalli railway track when the student tried to pose for the camera while walking near the track to have the speeding train as a background for the reel. However, the stunt failed and he was tossed in the air due to the impact of the train collision. The train was reportedly going from Kazipet to Manchiryala.
A railway guard, who noticed Ajay in blood-soaked condition on the tracks, called the 108 ambulance service. Ajay was shifted to a nearby hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment. According to reports, the boy received a head injury and injuries on his left ear.
