Defection attempt foiled: Raids were based on tip off given by TRS MLAs says Cyberabad CP

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police busted an alleged 'defection' attempt in which three persons, including a religious man tried to 'lure' four Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs to leave the party.

Stephen Raveendra-Commissioner of Police-Cyberabad and team on Thursday night, carried out a surprise 'search' at a farm house located in Aziz Nagar-Moinabad. The search was based on a tip off received from TRS MLAs that some persons have been luring four MLAs to leave the TRS party.

"The MLAs were offered cash, contracts and posts in return. The searches were carried out based on the information given by the TRS MLAs" the commissioner confirmed.


Out of the three persons, one is identified as Ramachandra Bharathi alias Satish Sharma from Faridabad, Nanda Kumar from Hyderabad and Simhayajulu. The suspects tried to lure G. Balaraj of Achampet, Tandur MLA Rohit Reddy, Kollapur MLA Harshavardhan Reddy and Pinapaka MLA Rega Kantha Rao. However the attempt was foiled.


The police confirmed that the farm house reportedly belongs to TRS MLA Rohit Reddy. Cops remained tight lipped about any cash found/ seized at the farm house. "We are ascertaining the case details' added Shamshabad DCP.
