From digital classrooms to distributing tabs among the students, the government schools in Andhra Pradesh are preparing their students to compete with their counterparts in private schools.
Under Nadu Nedu, the schools were transformed into places of learning A plethora of welfare schemes including Amma Vodi to Vidya Deevana were launched in 2022. The introduction of English Medium, CBSE syllabus, and tabs with Byjus content were some of the hallmarks of education reforms in 2022.
Amma Vodi, Jagananna Vidyadeevena, Jagananna Goru Muddha, Jagananna Vasathi Deevena, and Jagananna Vidya Kanuka programs helped the state reduce the drop-out rate in schools. The introduction of English as the medium of instruction and the subject-teacher concept instilled confidence among the students from the lower strata of society to write competitive examinations.
The government disbursed Rs.1403 crore under Jagananna Vidya Devena. It helped around 11 lakh students to pursue higher education. Rs 6,595 crore allocation under Amma Vodi benefited 82.31 lakh students. Jagananna Vidya Kanuka kits were distributed among 47.4 lakh students for Rs. 931 crore.
In December, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy distributed 5.18 lakh tabs worth Rs. 688 crore along with Rs. 778 crore worth Byju's premium content to 4, 59, 564 students of 8th class and 59, 176 teachers in Bapatla district.
The state government has introduced new guidelines for students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad under the Videsi Vidya Deevena Scheme.
