Discounts on pending traffic challans in Telangana: Up to 80% discount on 2, 3-wheelers

Hyderabad: In a year-end respite for drivers of various vehicles across Telangana, the traffic police have announced discounts of up to 90 per cent in pending traffic challans from December 26 to January 10, 2024. The public with pending challans against their vehicles can clear them online through the e-challan traffic website of Telangana.

The discounts are given because of the mega national Lok Adalat on December 30, to be conducted under the supervision of the Telangana High CouChief Minister A Revanth Reddy approved the following discounts on the pending traffic challans across the state:

- For push carts (39b cases) the discount is 90 per cent.

- For RTC drivers, the discount is 90 per cent.

- For two-wheelers such as bikes and three-wheelers such as autos, the discount is 80 per cent.

- for LMVs such as cars and other four-wheelers and HMVs such as trucks, the discount is 60 per cent.

This isn’t the first time, the Hyderabad traffic police have announced a discount on pending challans. During the last discount offer in March 2022, many commuters from Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda utilised the discounts and cleared their pending challans. This hasn’t been the same in the districts and rural parts of Telangana. Due to a lack of awareness, many drivers have not properly utilised the discounts. This time the state government hopes that drivers across Telangana utilise the offer by the government and clear pending challans against their vehicles.
