Telangana: A alleged fight over a seat in an RTC bus turned into a horrifying incident for a 22-year-old woman who was allegedly beaten, and verbally abused by Jagitial Rural Sub-Inspector (SI) A Anil.
The video, going viral on social media, shows how the SI in civil dress abused the woman in front of other passengers. The incident occurred at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, however the complaint was filed on Wednesday.
According to the sources, a 22-year-old minority woman, an MBA student from Bejjanki, and her mother were assaulted by Jagtial SI Anil (in civil dress) and a constable in khaki on an RTC bus while travelling from Siddipeta to Jagtial.
In a video, Farha said that the incident occurred when she and her mother were travelling on the bus from Siddipeta. Another woman who is SI Anil's wife got into a quarrel with them over a seat. The argument continued throughout the bus ride, and the woman threatened to call her husband, who works for SI.
The woman explained the incident saying, "When the bus reached Jagtial bus depot, it was chased a car, and a man in civilian dress along with a constable in khaki stopped the bus. The man boarded the bus and started abusing me and my mother with foul language. He asked me to show my phone as I started recording. He took way the phone, dragged me out of the bus"
The woman explained the incident in tears saying that the SI has hit her on her ears, and stabbed with his boots. His wife also attacked her mother.
The case was registered against Sub-inspector Anil and his wife, constable under IPC Section 290, 323 and 341.
On this incident, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi spoke to Jagitail SP Aggadi Bhaskar IPS, to take action immediately.
It is said that the SP assured that strict action will be taken on the police officer who misbehaved with the woman.
On this incident, Jagtial Superintendent of Police issued a memo transferring Anil. He is asked to report to the District Head Quarters Jagtial with immediate effect on disciplinary grounds til completion of enquiry.
Anil is further instructed to hand over the charge to P. Kiran Kumar SI of Police Raikal PS.
