Dr Sravan Dasoju alleges harassment over phone by Revanth Reddy’s supporters

Hyderabad: The BRS Hyderabad district in-charge, Dr Sravan Dasoju lodged a complaint with the deputy commissioner of police, Cyber Crimes against threatening and harassing phone calls from unidentified individuals, who he claimed are followers of TPCC President and MP Revanth Reddy.

Dr Dasoju, in his complaint, alleged that these individuals are causing immense distress to him, his family, and his team members. “These threatening and harassment calls from those claiming to be Revanth Reddy supporters have caused severe disruption and distress to me, my family, and my team members. I request stern legal action against them and the key culprits behind these goons who made the calls,” said Dr Dasoju.

Response to criticism

According to his complaint, the barrage of calls began in the early hours of July 14, immediately after Dr Sravan Dasoju held a press conference criticising Revanth Reddy for his remarks on the power supply to farmers and condemning his baseless allegations against the Telangana government and its leaders.

“Revanth Reddy, instead of responding and engaging in a counter-political discourse explaining his stand, appears to be resorting to rowdy tactics and disregarding the democratic values and dignity in public life,” added Dr Sravan Dasoju.

The alleged callers openly claimed to be Revanth Reddy supporters and issued explicit threats and warnings of physical assault and harm, he said. However, the BRS leader said he remains undeterred and committed to his cause. “Threats and attacks are not new to me. They cannot stop me from raising people’s issues and fighting for justice and democracy,” he said.

“These kinds of threatening tactics and rowdy politics by Revanth Reddy and his goons are unacceptable in a democracy. If they are allowed to go scot-free, they will destroy the democratic fabric of our society and may even resort to violence to crush dissent,” he added.

The BRS leader also expressed concern over the derogatory messages being spread about him by Revanth Reddy’s social media team, causing severe mental trauma to his supporters and himself.

Call for investigation

Stressing the need for intervention, Dr Sravan Dasoju emphasised, “It is high time the anti-social activities of Revanth Reddy and his supporters are put to an end with a thorough investigation.”

The BRS leader also enclosed the complaint with copies of call logs, carefully documenting the dates, times, and phone numbers from which the threatening calls were made.

Dr Dasoju called upon the Telangana State Police Department to conduct a thorough investigation and apprehend the individuals responsible for the threatening calls, emphasising the need for his safety and protection as a citizen.

In his statement, he also assured his full cooperation with the police and offered to provide any additional information required for the investigation.
