Telangana: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has given permission to hold the Telangana Cabinet meeting. The ECI said that, in the meeting, only those matters which are urgent, to be implemented in a time-bound schedule, shall be taken up. Hence, the Cabinet meeting may only take up matters which canāt wait till June 4.
Accordingly, the agenda items regarding the issue of the common AP and Telangana capital of Hyderabad and crop loan waiver shall be deferred till completion of the Lok Sabha Election in Telangana State.
As per the order, no State government officer involved in the conduct of the election should attend the meetings.
Earlier, the ECI denied permission to conduct the Telangana Cabinet meeting on Sunday due to MCC. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy convened a review meeting with the ministers at Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat.
With the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in force, Telangana chief secretary A Santhi Kumar has sought permission from the Election Commission of India (ECI) for the conduct of the State Cabinet meeting on Sunday.
