Hyderabad: Former Telangana health minister and BJP MLA Etela Rajender appeared before the Warangal Central DCP on Monday in connection with the alleged leak of the class 10 Hindi paper. After providing his statement to the police, Mr. Rajender addressed the media, firmly denying any wrongdoing and questioning the legitimacy of the case.

“During the police interrogation, I was asked a set of standard questions such as whether I had answered the call and whether I was acquainted with Prashanth. However, due to the illegitimate nature of the case, the police were unable to inquire further. However, out of my respect for the law, I cooperated fully with the investigation and answered all their questions to the best of my ability,” said the MLA.

The former minister further stated, “I have spent 20 years in public life and am a member of a party that prioritises the future of our children. As the only Prime Minister who has directly interacted with students during exams, Narendra Modi leads a party with similar values to my own.”

Mr. Rajender also questioned the validity of the case and the definition of a paper leak. “If the exam begins at 9:30 and the paper is leaked after 11 hours, how can it be called a paper leak? The case against us is part of a larger conspiracy to implicate us by those in KCR’s Pragati Bhavan,” he said.

He further accused the ruling party of attempting to divert attention from more important issues such as delayed pension payments, unpaid diet charges, and non-payment of contractors.

Mr. Rajender went on to add, “If Chandrasekhar (KCR) is alleging that crores of rupees were transported in a Range Rover car, then the conversation is being side-tracked. This is an attempt to distract from the liquor case.”

Furthermore, he accused the ruling party of attempting to divert attention from Rajdeep Sardesai’s argument that KCR will invest the entire country’s resources for elections. He stated, “The government is neglecting critical issues in Telangana while the whole country is forced to bear election expenses. The case is an attempt to divert attention from all these issues.”

According to Mr. Rajender, the SSC paper leak case was simply an attempt to deflect attention from the controversy surrounding the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) paper leak case. “These cases are an attempt to sidestep all these factors. KCR will stand by the people till he is defeated or till his aspirations are fulfilled. This is an illegal case,” he concluded.
