Ex Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan booked for cheating Medipally man in Rs 4 Cr land deal
By Newsmeter Network Published on 23 Aug 2022 4:30 PM GMTHyderabad: Former Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan has been booked by Rachakonda police for cheating his business partner and under ST/SC Atrocities Act. The cops acted based on a complaint filed by one Bommaku Murali- a businessman from Medipally. Bonthu and another accused Maryala Tirumala Reddy were booked under 120 b, 384, 406 of the Indian Penal Code and SC ST POA Act 153 (3) CrPC.
What was the crime?
The Ghatkesar police station falling under Rachakonda police limits, on 19th August received a court referred complaint against Maryala Tirumala Reddy (42 yrs) -Business Managing partner of M/s Mahalakshmi Constructions, and Bonthu Rammohan (49 yrs).
Complainant Bommaku Murali stated that, he is the 'Special Power of Attorney' holder cum partner in "Bommaku Infra" - an agriculture land located in Sy No: 89, (admg Ac 11-28 guntas) situated at Yamnampet Village. A few months ago GHMC Ex-Mayor Bonthu Rammohan approached Bommaku for clearing agricultural land in the same location. Rammohan and Bommaku, sealed an agreement with the land owners.
Later on, at the request of Bonthu Rammohan, the complainant invested Rs 4 crores as an advance to that land owners, he also mortgaged his original passbooks. Whereas Bonthu Rammohan did not invest any.
According to the agreement, Bonthu Rammohan and Bommaka had a 60% - 40% agreement with land owners (Complainant Vs Land Owners) was the agreement. As everything went fine, Bommaka registered land admeasuring Ac 11-24Gts as Special Power of Attorney in Uppal Registrar Office in May 2022. However, the Medchal district registrar did not upload the same in the online.
The complaint said, "Bonthu Rammohan used his influence and directed the registrar not to upload the documents online and instead keep the documents as disputed. Later Bonthu advised the complainant to quit from the land deal as he got a better deal with accused Maryala Tirumala Reddy- owner of M/s Mahalakshmi Constructions.
"Bonthu threatened me to drop out of the land deal, failing which I would face dire consequences. In the meanwhile Tirumala Reddy met the original land owners and obtained land registration on his firm name. He issued two cheques as a mode of payment to me, but it was later stopped " he said in the complaint.
Bommaka told the court that Bonthu and Tirumala Reddy deliberately stopped the payment and cheated the him with a pre- planned and malafide intention. The A-1 and A-2 committed criminal conspiracy, Cheating, Criminal breach of trust with intentionally insulting the complainant. The complainant belongs to SC Main Community, cops said.
