BRS MP Joginapally Santosh booked in Banjara Hills land grabbing case

Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police have registered a case against BRS leader and MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar. The case was filed based on a complaint lodged by Chinta Madhav, the representative of Navayuga Company, alleging an attempt to grab land in Banjara Hills Road No. 14.

According to the Banjara Hills police, a complaint was received from Chinta Madhav, the authorised representative of Navayuga Engineering Company Limited (NECL), stating that NECL had purchased 1,350 square yards in Sy. No. 129/54 on Road No. 14, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, through a registered Sale Deed dated July 2, 2010, from vendors Karan Dube and his wife Bharathi Dube.

Recently, it was discovered that two rooms were constructed on the property. Upon inquiry from the GHMC office, it was revealed that tax was being paid on the premises by former MP J Santosh and by Linga Reddy Sridhar, by fabricating the door numbers.

Upon further investigation, it was confirmed by the Sub Registrar Office, Banjara Hills, that the aforementioned trespassers had created forged and fabricated documents with the intention of grabbing the land.

As per the complaint received, the Banjara Hills police registered a case under sections 420, 468, 471, 447, 120(B) r/w 34 IPC and it is currently under investigation.

Responding on this incident, MP said, "Police and media are saying 1350 sq yards but I have purchased only 904 square yards. I have purchased the land in 2016 from a person named Shyam Sunder by paying Rs Rs 3,81,50, 000 so there is no point of forgery. The link document of sale deed was of 1992 and never an issue came up in 32 years. Why now."

He alleged that the Congress government wants to defame BRS party by blaming on him. "This is only a political accusation and I will surely face it legally," Santosh stated.
