Fake medical bills scam: CID files six FIRs against hospitals at Hyderabad, Khammam, Nalgonda, Karimnagar

Hyderabad: Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) has filed six FIRs against various hospitals in Hyderabad, Khammam, Nalgonda, and Karimnagar in fake medical bills scam.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy ordered a CID probe after a scam was unearthed. Hospital employees, locals, and administrative officials are involved in embezzling the government funds meant for those in need.

The probe was launched after a complaint was filed by DSN Murthy, Section Officer (FAC) from the Revenue Department (CMRF) at the Telangana Secretariat. He alleged that the people involved in the scam faked medical invoices, which they subsequently sent to the Chief Minister's office to be reimbursed through the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) program.

The state government suffered large financial losses as a result of the fake bills. In Hyderabad, the hospitals named in the FIR include Aruna Sree Multi Specialty Hospital, IS Sadan X Road, Sri Krishna Hospital, Saidabad, Janani Hospital, Saidabad, Hiranya Hospital, Meerpet, Delta Hospital, Hasthinapuram, Sree Raksha Hospital, BN Reddy Nagar, MMS Hospital, Sagar Ring Road, ADRM Multi Specialty Hospital, Sharadanagar, MMV Indira Multi Specialty Hospital, Kothapet and Sri Sai Tirumala Hospital, Bairamalguda.

In Khammam, the FIRs were filed against Sri Srikara Multispeciality Hospital, Global Multispecialty Hospital, Dr. J.R. Prasad Hospital, Sri Vinayaka Super Speciality Hospital, Sri Sai Multi Specialty Hospital, Vaishnavi Hospital, Sujatha Hospital, New Amrutha Hospital, Orange Hospital and Megasri Hospital, Bonakal.

Similarly in Nalgonda, the FIRs were filed against Naveena Multi Specialty Hospital, Miryalaguda, Mahesh Multi Specialty Hospital, Miryalaguda, and Amma Hospital, Railway Station Road.

In Karimnagar Sapthagiri Hospital, Jammikunta and Sri Sai Hospital, Peddapalli, Rohini Medicare Pvt. Ltd., Hanumakonda (Warangal) and Sri Sanjeevini Hospital and Siddhartha Hospital in Mahabubabad were also involved in the fake bill fraud and FIRs were filed against them.

The people engaged carefully coordinated with the hospital administrations to prepare and submit the fictitious bills, according to the CID's preliminary investigation. This was a huge scheme with far-reaching consequences because the fraudulent activities were disseminated throughout multiple districts.

Taking serious note of the matter, the Telangana government has promised to take strong action against the perpetrators of the fraud. As the CID launches its investigation into the scam, further inquiries are being conducted and arrests are anticipated.
