Devotees immediately fled the scene. Staff members who responded promptly brought the situation under control before it could cause significant damage.
The incident occurred at Counter No 47 and is believed to have been caused by a short circuit in the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system linked to the computer setup.
According to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) officials, no casualties have been reported.
It may be recalled that during the stampede that occurred at the distribution of tokens for Vaikunta Dwara Darsanam, six people lost their lives and several others were injured on January 8. The stampede took place when around 4,000 devotees were waiting for tokens for the 10-day special darshan.
