Fire in Renigunta private hospital; Doctor, his two kids dead

By Newsmeter Network Published on 25 Sep 2022 5:48 AM GMTTirupati: A doctor was burnt alive and his two children Siddhartha Reddy (12) and Karthika (6) died in the hospital after a massive fire broke out in Karthika hospital located in Bhagatsingh colony in the Renigunta area of Tirupati district on Sunday. Around ten members were in the building at the time of the incident. Luckily, there were only two patients in the hospital, who were immediately brought out.
Dr. M Ravishankar Reddy, a Radiologist, and his wife Dr. M Anantha Lakshmi, a General Medicine practitioner are living in the hospital building premises on the top floor. It is a three-storeyed building which was built recently. On Sunday at 4 am, when all were asleep, a massive fire broke out on the floor reportedly due to a short circuit.
According to the police officials, the hospital has no fire safety norms followed. An inquiry will be conducted to get more details on the incident.
Fire Department teams who were alerted visited the spot and conducted rescue operations. The teams could save Dr. Anantha Lakshmi and his mother Rama Subbamma while their children who were rescued, died while being treated at the hospital.
