Hyderabad: A woman died in Hanumakonda district on Saturday night when the car belonging to the former BRS MLA from Station Ghanpur Thatikonda Rajaiah collided with her.
The police stated that at the time of the accident, former MLA Rajaiah was in the car and his driver was at the wheel.
According to the Madikonda Police, Kalkota Swapna (40) from Warangal, who was working as a labourer, was crossing the divider of the main road near her house when the accident occurred. Initial reports from eyewitnesses stated that Rajaiah, who was travelling from Hyderabad to Hanumakonda, collided with Swapna and fled the scene without stopping.
Rajaiahās personal secretary called the police to inform them about the incident.
A local youth who witnessed the accident posted a voice recording on social media, stating that Rajaiahās car had hit the woman, urging people to save her. The car was later found abandoned in Bapujinagar.
Swapna suffered severe head injuries and became unconscious. Doctors confirmed that she died by the time she was brought to the hospital.
