Formula E Prix car is on display at Tank Bund. The red electronic car was first displayed to public on 25 September morning by Special Chief Secretary Urban development Arvind Kumar at Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge as part of Hyderabad Cycle Revolution 2.0

The car was moved to Tank Bund in the afternoon where it will be showcased for the next few days. The car will then be showcased at 20 other locations in the city.

The Formula E Prix race will be held on a 2.37 km track around Hussain Sagar Lake- the circuit covering the Secretariat Complex, going through Lumbini Park as a loop.

In January 2022, the state government and Formula E officials signed a letter of intent (LOI) to host the race in Hyderabad with 'Ace Urban Race' as the promoting partner and the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

Formula E is an electric-powered single-seater championship that started in the year 2014 and was granted World Championship status by the FIA during the seventh season in the year 2020-21. Unlike Formula One, which is hosted in purpose-built circuits, Formula E, also known as E-Prix, races are held on the street circuits, thereby promoting electric mobility and taking racing to the fans.

With this, Hyderabad will become the only city in India and one among the 13 cities across the globe to be hosting Formula E racing.

Unlike Formula 1 where cars are powered by fossil fuel, all racing cars will be electric-powered in Formula E.

Given the upcoming Formula E racing in Hyderabad in 2023, a managing committee has been set up to review the preparations.

K T Rama Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) will be the Chairman of the managing committee. The committee also consists of six other members which include Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, Dilbagh Gill, Chief Executive Officer & Team Principal Mahindra Racing, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Ace Urban Race, Representative of FIA, three subject experts or brand ambassadors decided by the committee, Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary MAUD, (who will be member-convenor of the committee), and any other member decided by the committee.

The managing committee which will oversee the overall arrangements at the state level including event preparation, review of work progress, marketing and outreach, campaign and publicity, media coverage & protocol and any other issue as it emerges.

Further, an executive committee will be chaired by Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary MAUD.
