Four tiger cubs rescued in Atmakur forest, but where is the mother?

The forest officials launched an operation to trace the tigress and reunite her with the cubs.

Four tiger rescued in Pedda Gummadapuram village, Nandyal district. 

Nandyal: Four tiger cubs were spotted by the villagers of Pedda Gummadapuram under the Atmakur forest division in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh. The cubs were spotted by a villager in the fields in the early hours of Monday. Afraid the stray dogs would attack the cubs, the villagers rescued them and kept them in a room.


Upon receiving the information, the forest officials rushed to the spot and safely transported the tiger cubs. They are said to be in good condition.

According to the villagers, there have been several tiger sightings in the vicinity of the village near the Nallamala forest area.

Fear of mother tiger

The villagers fear that the mother tiger might come into the village in search of her cubs and attack them. The forest officials are closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety of both the tiger cubs and the villagers.


According to the Atmakur Divisional Forest officials, the tiger cubs are one month old and the mother might have hid them somewhere while she went in search of food. The tigress is suspected to be in the surrounding areas.

The forest officials have launched an operation to trace the tigress and reunite her with the cubs.
